Oceanic Dispatch

One day back,
I was feeling procedural.
Appearing on the beach,
a tattered dining table, mismatched chairs,
three refrigerators, a Bestiary of the Household.
Industrial, aquacultural, and wild.
On the surface, at a distance,
red devil ducks and running shoes tangled a ghost
net of fiery pink plastic, leftovers of our disappearing astrology and the most hygienic childhood.
Minutes later, word came:
Geronimo was dead. His bundled body, suspended
for a moment on the free surface of the ocean,
descended.
