with John Keene, Charles Ruas, and Patrick Phillips

Monet to Mallarmé is a six-event salon series at the New York Botanical Garden presenting readings by contemporary poets and scholars of their favorite French Symbolist poetry to compliment the Garden's stunning tribute to French Impressionist Claude Monet's garden at Giverny. This event features the poetry of Paul Verlaine in French and in a variety of translations.

SYMBIOSIS: AN EVENING OF ASIAN AND ASIAN AMERICAN POETRY with Monica Ferrell, Kimiko Hahn, Timothy Liu, and Angela Veronica Wong



An evening of readings combined with a dynamic discussion on the exchange of influence between early-modern Asian poets, modern American poets, and contemporary Asian American poets. Featuring readings by poets Monica Ferrell, Kimiko HahnTimothy Liu, and Angela Veronica Wong, this event highlights the historic, transnational dialogue occurring across generations, and considers the importance of this exchange in today's literary landscape. The poets will further discuss the sacred in Asian American culture as articulated in American poetry.
