Four Quartets Prize

The T.S. Eliot Foundation in association with the Poetry Society of America is issuing an open call for poetry submissions.  Launching in 2018 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first publication of T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets in a single volume, in America in 1943, the prize is for a unified sequence of poems published in America in a print or online journal, chapbook or book in 2016 or 2017.

Inaugural Prize Judges: Linda Gregerson, Ishion Hutchinson, and Jana Prikryl

Three finalists will each receive $1,000. The winner will receive an additional $20,000.

Deadline for submissions: December 22nd 2017

The shortlist of three finalists will be announced in March, 2018. They will be honored on the evening of the performance by Jeremy Irons of Four Quartets at the 92nd Street Y on Thursday, April 12, 2018. The winner of the prize will be announced the next day at a reception at the National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park, New York.
