A note from Alice Quinn:

Don't miss this magnificent show, the last great exhibition in ICP's home gallery before they move to their new space in the Bowery. Jorie Graham has been to the exhibit three times! Her reading and talk with Timothy Donnelly will be extraordinary.

Sebastião Salgado Photo Exhibition: Genesis

An Evening of Poetry with Pulitzer Prize-Winner Jorie Graham
in conversation with Timothy Donnelly

The International Center of Photography (ICP) presents Genesis, a momentous project by world-renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado. On view from September 19, 2014 through January 11, 2015, the exhibition, curated and designed by Lélia Wanick Salgado, is the result of a multi-year survey and draws together more than 200 spectacular black-and-white photographs of wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, and indigenous peoples, raising public awareness about the pressing issues of environmental and climate change.

In collaboration with ICP, the PSA offers this cross-genre event, featuring Pulitzer-Prize-winning poet Jorie Graham. Graham will read her own work directly concerned with environmental issues, as well as original poems inspired by Salgado's photographs. After her reading, Graham will have a conversation about climate change and the imagination with Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award-winning poet Timothy Donnelly.
