The Poetry Society of America is excited to
announce our new partnership with
The Favorite Poem Project.

The Favorite Poem Project works to celebrate, document, and promote poetry's
role in Americans' lives. Launched by Robert Pinsky in 1998 during his term
as U.S. Poet Laureate, The Favorite Poem Project grew rapidly as more than
18,000 Americansfrom ages 5 to 97, from every state, of diverse occupations,
kinds of education and backgroundswrote in to share their favorite poems.
From those thousands of letters, The Favorite Poem Project has created more
than 800 community readings, summer institutes for teachers, and several
enduring collections including two anthologies and a video collection.
