Eligibility:
- Open to legal and current residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age.
Criteria:
- The author must have all the rights to the submission.
- Submissions that are not the original and sole work of the entrant will not be accepted.
- Poem may have not been published before.
- Limit one submission of one poem per person. Multiple submissions will not be accepted.
Submission Requirements:
- Only online submissions will be accepted.
- Entrants must complete all required fields on the Contest entry form and submit as directed.
- Poems should not be accompanied by illustrations.
- There is no line limit.
- Any poem submitted must be suitable for public display, to be determined at the sole discretion of the PSA and TSA.
- No PSA or TSA employee and those affiliated with employees of the PSA and TSA (i.e. family and partners) are eligible to enter the Contest.
Notification:
- Submissions will not be returned, and only the winners will be contacted.
- The list of winners and winning poems will be posted at www.poetrysociety.org and www.TimesSquareNYC.org after April 15th, 2008.
Judging Panel, Winner Selection:
- A panel of judges comprised of representatives from the PSA and TSA will initially judge all eligible entries based on the judging criteria.
- Judging Criteria: submissions will be judged on originality, style and content.
- The finalists will then be judged by Alice Quinn, David Lehman, and Tracie Morris.
- Winners will be selected on or around April 15th, 2008.
